Black Bear Casino is hosting the Coates RV Ice Fishing Show this weekend. Dennie and I are going to go check it out Friday afternoon when it opens, should be there about 12:30pm. Don't expect much other than houses, but who knows!

This sounds worthy of my attendance.  I hope I don't buy anything for Christ's sake!

what a joke, 16 fish houses a small thorne bros booth mac sports and some fords. alto they had a nice glacier fish house for under 12 grand.and a lot of nice yettis. i go ice fishing lake of the woods 4 to 5 times year. i could go for 15 years and still not spend that kind of money altho they arnt as nice as staying in one of those. but i dont have to haul it and set it up either.

I didn't mind the show, keeping in mind that it was solely put on by Coates, it was at Black Bear, and it was free.  Sure it wasn't nearly as big as the Boat Show or the Duluth "Ice" (notice the quotations) show, but it got the juices flowing a bit!  Picked up a new slush bucket from the Thorne Bros booth for 10% off, and got to check out some sweet new wheelhouses.  Wasn't a bad way to burn a couple hours on a Saturday.

I missed it. Even though it sounds like it was kinda sad this year, maybe it'll turn into a legit show next year. Maybe a replacement for the winter shutter and siding show at the DECC.

I’m waiting for someone new to make a good quality, kick ass icehouse.  I haven’t seen it yet.

The Grey Wolf my brother was looking at buying last year was really nice. The workmanship and quality of the finish puts Ice Castle to shame; hard! It's built by Forest River RVs & they've been building RVs forever, so I suppose they have it down.

On the one he was looking at, the cabinets and trim were actually square, the roof had no seams, the shell was smooth, the windows were flush so they were less likely to leak, and the layout was smart. I thought it was much nicer than the Ice Castles.

Walso has one. They rock. I REALLY like that they have an oversize dinette in the rear. You can actually get 4 full grown dudes around it for beers and cards comfortably whereas in other houses i've been in you're ass to ass in those things.
